Local Hacking – Myth or Truth?
Recently a university student hacked into one of the local banking systems. This is just one incident out of many incidents where that local organizations have been exposed to dangerous individuals. There is a general lack of awareness of the dangers of not securing your systems. Most people have a tendancy to believe that it will not happen in Zimbabwe these things only happen in Europe or the United States of America. It will probably take for one of the organizations to lose a lot of money for people to take note.

Is Online Banking Safe?
The cash crisis that plagued the country late last year to early this year saw a sizeable amount of people resorting to online banking. Many people made applications and long after the crisis still continue to use it. Good as it may sound, banks all over the world lose millions of dollars to high-tech fraudsters. Banks try and minimise the risk but user can do quite a bit to protect themselves.

The new kid on the block: Microsoft Surface
In May 2007 at the All Things Digital conference, Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballmer unveiled a new computer designed by the software giant called the Surface. The Surface is essentially a Windows Vista PC tucked inside a table topped with a 76cm reflective surface in a clear acrylic frame. The initial design was made for playing games and viewing maps. The surface uses multitouch technology enabling it to identify 52 different touches at a time, which is about 6 people. If a digital device such as a phone or camera is placed on the surface it can be identified and pictures downloaded onto it. Drag and drop is able to and from the device.
